While the contractors overseeing the Loop 1604 expansion project across North San Antonio do not plan major closures during this Memorial Day holiday weekend, the Texas Department of Transportation notified local motorists about increased weeknight closures.

The details

TxDOT officials said the following portions of Loop 1604 will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily until May 25:
  • Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes from the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp to the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp
  • I-10 westbound and eastbound main lane exit ramps to eastbound Loop 1604 mainlanes
This closure, which started May 20, will allow work crews to set deck panels for a planned flyover ramp for the new I-10/Loop 1604 interchange, TxDOT officials said.

Also of note

TxDOT officials said Lockhill-Selma underneath Loop 1604 will be closed from 9 p.m. May 23 until 5 a.m. May 24, including the turnarounds at the intersection.

This closure will allow the contractor to prepare decks for the Lockhill-Selma bridge.

Additionally, the westbound main lanes from the Redland Road exit ramp to the US 281 westbound entrance ramp will be closed from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily through June 1. This nightly closure began May 20.
