San Antonio officials will have two public meetings where visitors can find out more about the expansion of the San Antonio International Airport or even take part in the expansion project as a business partner.

The background

Representatives from the city’s aviation department and City Council District will have a Feb. 19 town hall meeting at the Walker Ranch Senior Center.

Residents are invited to a Feb. 20 open house at Airport Center, an office complex near the airport.

City officials said the open house will offer a chance for members of the public to browse preliminary plans for construction of the third terminal and to provide input for city staffers, who are preparing an environmental assessment for review by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Local officials said the assessment will cover potential environmental effects of construction of a third terminal and other planned improvements around the airport.
