Work crews overseeing the Loop 1604 expansion project will fully close the main freeway lanes in both directions for two days this weekend.

According to a notice from the Texas Department of Transportation, the westbound main lanes between the Northwest Military Highway exit ramp and the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp will be closed from 9 p.m. Nov. 10 through 5 p.m. Nov. 12.


Also, the eastbound main lanes between the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and the Bitters Road entry ramp will be closed at the same time.

Additionally, project contractors will close the I-10 westbound exit ramp to eastbound Loop 1604 and the I-10 eastbound cloverleaf exit to the Loop 1604 eastbound main lanes during the same time as the Loop 1604 closures.

TxDOT offered motorists tips for navigating detours this weekend. All westbound Loop 1604 traffic will exit via the Northwest Military exit ramp and can re-enter the westbound mainlanes via the Lockhill Selma entrance ramp.

All eastbound Loop 1604 traffic will exit via the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and continue on the eastbound frontage road. Traffic can re-enter the eastbound main lanes via the Bitters Road entrance ramp.

All traffic going from westbound I-10 to eastbound Loop 1604 will take the frontage road exit and continue on the frontage road to Loop 1604 eastbound frontage road. Traffic can re-enter the eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes using the Lockhill Selma entrance ramp.


All traffic looking to travel from eastbound I-10 to eastbound Loop 1604 will take the frontage road exit and continue on the frontage road to the eastbound Loop 1604 frontage road intersection. Traffic can re-enter the eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes using the Lockhill Selma entrance ramp.
