The Texas Department of Transportation is closing segments of Loop 1604 near I-10 nightly through Oct. 14 as part of the ongoing Loop 1604 expansion project.
The background
TxDOT officials said the closures, which began Oct. 9, affect the following parts of Loop 1604 from 9 p.m.-5 a.m. daily:
- Westbound main lanes between the Lockhill Selma Road exit ramp and the I-10 interchange
- Eastbound main lanes between the Vance Jackson Road exit ramp and the Lockhill Selma Road entrance ramp
- The westbound main exit ramp and direct connector to the eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes
- The I-10 eastbound cloverleaf exit ramp to the eastbound Loop 1604 main lanes
Digging deeper
TxDOT officials said these closures allow construction contractors to ready the road deck for a new westbound direct connector and install girders for a new eastbound direct connector.
The expansion project includes a reconfigured I-10/Loop 1604 interchange.
