Construction crews working on the Loop 1604 expansion project in North San Antonio will permanently close the existing eastbound exit ramp to Lockhill-Selma Road starting June 23.
According to an email blast from the Texas Department of Transportation, this existing ramp will not be reopened as the final layout for an expanded freeway does not include an eastbound exit ramp to Lockhill-Selma as it is currently constructed.
TxDOT officials said a new exit ramp to Lockhill-Selma will be built as part of a new Loop 1604/I-10 interchange.
TxDOT officials also said all eastbound Loop 1604 traffic looking to access Lockhill-Selma Road will be detoured to the Northwest Military Highway exit ramp and continue to the turnaround leading traffic back to Lockhill-Selma.
