Throughout July, San Antonio-based Massage Heights is helping to raise funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

From now through July 31, Massage Heights locations will donate $1 for every completed massage or facial service to NAMI, a grassroots mental health organization dedicated to aiding individuals coping with mental illness.

Officials with Massage Heights said their company’s slogan is "Rejuvenate with Purpose,” which they added emphasizes a natural connection between massage therapy and mental health.

According to NAMI, one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness. A news release from Massage Heights stated it is NAMI’s mission is to offer advocacy, education, support and public awareness to individuals affected by mental illness and their families.

Visitors to Massage Heights locations also have an option of choosing to donate when checking out or gift a donation directly on the Massage Heights fundraising page.

Additionally, the company has set a goal of raising a total of $100,000 by the end of this year.

Shane Evans, co-founder and CEO of Massage Heights, said mental health is a core component of one’s overall wellness, and company leaders hope their partnership with NAMI will help further educate and create greater awareness on the resources and supports needed to assist individuals with mental illness.
