Alexis Martinez, executive assistant for The Salvation Army of San Antonio, said support from organizations, such as the Security Service Charitable Foundation, allows nonprofits to aid people in the most need.
“The help given to kids and their families bridges a gap between those who can afford new things for school and those who have to choose between spending money to keep the lights on or buy the necessities for their kids, like a new pair of shoes,” Martinez said in a statement.
