A news release states in April 2003, McDonald’s restaurants across the San Antonio area began selling custom Fiesta medals featuring the character Grimace. Medals were available for $8.50 with proceeds benefiting RMHC of San Antonio.
This year is the eighth year for the fundraiser, and McDonald’s has raised a total of more than $233,000 for the nonprofit.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio is a local organization whose mission is to help provide a safe and caring home away from home for families. It helps keep families close while an ill or injured child receives medical care in San Antonio.
