TPC San Antonio played host to an April 24 golf event where some former National Football League stars helped to raise funds for two charitable causes.

A qualifier for the NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf took place at TPC San Antonio with a goal of raising $300,000 for Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative and the NFL Alumni’s nonprofit, Caring for Kids, organizers said.

Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative, part of Morgan’s Wonderland all-abilities theme park in northeast San Antonio, helps to empower, educate and innovate in its journey to ensure individuals of all abilities have access to different places and experiences, according to the initiative.

NFL alumni, members, families and friends gather in support of programs nationwide, including Caring for Kids, that benefit charitable organizations serving children and their families.

Representatives from the local NFL Alumni Chapter, Morgan’s Inclusion Initiative and event partners Amazon and Luxury Home Magazine were joined by 30 former NFL players, including Earl Campbell, Hall of Famer and Heisman Trophy winner, and Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl winner Ed “Too Tall” Jones.

A news release said this was the first time that San Antonio hosted a Super Bowl of Golf event and that organizers are excited about the NFL Alumni partnering with corporations to support charitable causes.
