In response to the current tampon shortage in stores due to global supply chain issues, the San Antonio-based Texas Diaper Bank said it is distributing prepackaged tampons available for pickup by individuals in need, bank CEO Jorge Medina said.

According to a statement from the local nonprofit agency, the packages are available this week in the TDB front office at 1803 Grandstand Drive, Ste. 150, off North Loop 410 West.

Pickup hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Friday until the end of June while supplies last. Individuals are limited to two packages.

Texas Diaper Bank distributed 240,000 period products and served 11,100 in 2021, the release said.

Individuals interested in donating products to support TDB’s programs distributing feminine hygiene products can drop them off at any time in the blue bins behind the facility or make a monetary donation.

In addition to emergency supplies, the Texas Diaper Bank encourages individuals to sign up for its services at www.texasdiaperbank.org.
