Hollywood Park City Council voted unanimously to cancel the Dec. 17 City Council meeting during its Nov. 19 meeting.

The gist

Mayor Chester Drash said City Council has voted to not have a December meeting for a number of years prior to this vote.

“For the last few years, the council has voted to not have a meeting. Mainly, [because the meeting] lands amidst all the Christmas holidays coming up,” Drash said.

Though the council voted unanimously to cancel the meeting, Place 4 council member Wendy Gonzalez expressed reservations about not having a slot available for a meeting if any issues arise between Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

After some debate, City Council moved forward with canceling the meeting, while stipulating that if a need for a meeting arises, they can reinstate the scheduled meeting.
