In an effort to make attending meetings easier for residents, Hill Country Village City Council voted unanimously to adjust the City Council meeting schedule during its Sept. 19 meeting.

The gist

For fiscal year 2024-25, Hill Country Village City Council will hold meetings at 5:30 p.m. every third Thursday of the month, with July’s meeting being held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Currently, the City Council holds regular meetings at 5 p.m. every third Thursday.

City officials said residents have criticized the 5 p.m. meeting time because they cannot get out of work to be able to attend, and that moving the meeting time back will allow more citizens to attend regularly.

According to city officials, July’s meeting was moved to the fourth Thursday of the month to allow for enough time to prepare the upcoming budget.

Next steps

The new meeting schedule will take effect Oct. 1 when FY 2024-25 begins.
