San Antonio International Airport recorded its busiest month on record with 1,032,610 passengers departing or arriving into SAT in July.

The gist

According to airport passenger data, the new record is a 3% increase from the previous record of 1,000,172 passengers set in July 2023. The new record marks the second time SAT has exceeded a million passengers, according to an Aug. 21 news release.

The airlines with the greatest passenger increases include Spirit Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Aeromexico, Frontier Airlines, Volaris, Sun Country, Viva Aerobus, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

2023 still holds the record as SAT’s busiest year, with approximately 10.7 million passengers departing and arriving in San Antonio.

Quote of note

“We’re continuing to see record-breaking passenger levels at SAT,” said Jesus Saenz, director of airports for the city of San Antonio. “We are growing every day with new destinations and flights being added yearly. The more you continue to choose to fly from SAT, the more airlines respond to that demand and add more service.”
