San Antonio Parks and Recreation is extending the public pool season for nine outdoor pools from the week of Aug. 14 through Sept. 24.

“Extended pool seasons continue to be a part of our aquatics operations each year,” Parks and Recreation Director Homer Garcia III said in a statement. “We know that our community needs places to stay cool, even as many in our city return back to school and college.”

Nine pools will remain open on the weekends. In addition to weekend hours, Roosevelt Pool and Woodlawn Lake Pool will be open on select weekday evenings.

  • Cuellar Pool, 502 S.W. 36th St.: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • Heritage Pool, 1423 S. Ellison Drive: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • LBJ Pool, 10700 Nacogdoches Road: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • Lincoln Pool, 2803 E. Commerce St.: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • Normoyle Pool, 700 Culberson Ave.: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • Roosevelt Pool, 330 Roosevelt Drive: Tue.-Thu. 5-8 p.m., and Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • San Pedro Pool, 2200 N. Flores St.: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.
  • Southside Lions Pool, 3100 Hiawatha Ave.: Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m
  • Woodlawn Pool, 221 Alexander Ave.; Tue.-Thu. 5-8 p.m., and Sat. and Sun. 1-8 p.m.

City officials said lap swim opportunities are available at the Woodlawn Pool from 7:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday-Friday.

Local officials added that the San Antonio Natatorium, 1430 Cesar E. Chavez Blvd., welcomes swimmers for open swim, lap swim and fitness classes.

The city’s seven splash pads remain open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily through October.



Parks and recreation has partnered with Thousand Oaks Family YMCA and Southwest ISD Aquatic Center to offer community swim days. Schedules vary by location.
