Bexar County on March 6 announced the creation of a new website that will help keep residents updated on its 10-year $690 million Capital Improvements Program.
County officials said the CIP is designed to provide various types of long-term infrastructure support among upgraded transportation and flood control, creeks and trails, parks, and county facilities.
County commissioners approved the CIP on Sept. 14, 2021, covering a total of 120 projects intended to stimulate the local economy; address rapid growth; and catalyze productive, transformational change in the community.
In 2023, 35 projects are projected to begin, with 60 projects already in progress, county officials said.
According to a news release, the CIP will help the county to keep pace with a growing population, which grew by 300,000 in the past 10 years.
County officials said the new CIP website will serve as a central location to access project information and updates as well as project bidding opportunities.
