Shavano Park residents are invited to a March 23 meeting to learn more about the city’s proposed $10 million road improvement bond, which will be on the May 7 election ballot.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 900 Saddletree Court. City officials will offer basic information about the proposal, which if approved will allow Shavano Park to issue up to $10 million in bond debt to rebuild eight city streets, repave the Post Oak Way entrance from Lockhill Selma Road and reconstruct four cul-de-sacs.
Most of the targeted roads are in older neighborhoods immediately west and east of Northwest Military Highway, local officials said.
The proposed street improvements range from major repairs to total reconstruction, according to the city.
Shavano Park also proposes using some of the bond proceeds to repave and enhance its portion of DeZavala Road between Northwest Military and Lockhill Selma.
Community Impact Newspaper-North San Antonio’s current edition has more about the road bond proposal, and the April edition will contain a voter's guide to local elections.
