COVID-19 and flu vaccines will be available to attendees of a resource fair being held by the San Antonio City Council District 8 office Oct. 19.

The fair will take place from 5-8 p.m. at University United Methodist Church, 5185 De Zavala Road.

Representatives from several public agencies will be at the fair providing residents with information on programs and special services.

Staff from San Antonio Metropolitan Health will administer COVID-19 and flu vaccines for free. The COVID-19 vaccines will be available as first or second dose, alongside Pfizer boosters.

People may learn from the Bexar Appraisal District about how to protest property appraisals.






CPS Energy and San Antonio Water System will provide information on utility payment plans.

The city’s development services department will have information about homeowner repair support, code compliance and permitting.

Representatives of District 8 Council Member Manny Pelaez will talk about available neighborhood services.

The city’s neighborhood and housing services department will offer details on rent and utility assistance.




The public works department will have information on the city’s Pothole Patrol program and Adopt-a-Spot community cleanups.

The San Antonio Housing Authority will share details on the city’s emergency broadband benefit program.

There also will be information from the San Antonio Public Library, San Antonio Police Department and about job training, among other things.

Additionally, attendees may enjoy food truck options, door prizes and games.
