There are several events happening in the San Antonio and Austin area to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15-Oct. 15. This is a noncomprehensive list. Events are subject to change.

San Antonio

El Grito at Historic Market Square

The Consulate General of Mexico, in collaboration with the city of San Antonio and other organizations, will celebrate Mexico's independence with a three-day event featuring a festival, food vendors, artisans and entertainment.

Fiestas Patrias at Traders Village

Traders Village will celebrate Fiestas Patrias with a free concert featuring performances by Mariachi Campanas de America, Siggno, Michael Salgado, Mariachi Harlandale High School band and other artists.New Braunfels

Fiestas Patrias at Flamingo Cantina

Dine at Z’Tejas

Z'Tejas is celebrating Mexican Independence Day by serving the traditional dish Chiles en Nogada for a limited time. This dish features roasted poblano peppers stuffed with a mixture of ground beef, pork and fruits like apples, pears, raisins and topped with a walnut cream sauce, pomegranate seeds and parsley, symbolizing the colors of the Mexican flag.San Marcos

Hispanic Heritage Exhibition Walk




Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos will host a community walk for people of all ages that will begin at Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos and culminate at Hays County Historic Courthouse with vendors, food and entertainment.Seguin

Diez y Seis De Septiembre Fiestas Patrias Exhibit

An exhibit commemorating the importance of Mexico’s Independence Day is on display at the Seguin Heritage Museum. The exhibit will run until Oct. 25.Meet the artist: Deborah Kuetzpal Vasquez

Debora Kuetzpal Vasquez will be at Teatro de Artes de Juan Seguin to showcase and sell her art. Kuetzpal Vasquez will be giving a lecture about her work and journey to becoming an artist.
