The 45th CineFestival San Antonio, the nation’s first and longest running Latino film festival, will involve screenings, panel discussions, workshops, Q&A sessions, receptions and after parties. Many festival activities are free and open to the public. Free community events include Family Day, a youth film showcase, a matinee senior cinema screening for the area’s elderly film lovers and "Cine en el Barrio.”

Sweet Paris Crêperie & Café will sponsor a Bastille Day festival, celebrating a pivotal event leading up to the French revolution. There will be French beer, wine and small bites, a French classic car show, French music and teams from around Texas participating in a petanque “bocci” tournament.

An opening reception with artist Margot Bosch will be held for an exhibit of her works, “Life with Colors.” The exhibit will display colorful pieces that Bosch said represents her life’s experiences and range of emotions. The exhibit will last through Sept. 6.

Spiritual Care Network of San Antonio and Pay It Forward San Antonio will present "Embracing Wellness: Navigating Mental Health in Today's World.” The theme, "In The Belly of the Whale," will address issues when people feel consumed by mental health or addiction struggles. The event is open to the community, mental health professionals and faith leaders. There will also be resource tables with representatives from nonprofit organizations, treatment centers, counselors, hospitals and other community programs. Admission will include lunch and coffee.
