‘Surviving Space’

Witte Museum is hosting an exhibit, “Surviving Space: Astronauts and Asteroids.” It is an interactive display that lets visitors experience life as an astronaut, see real NASA artifacts, and learn how scientists at places such as San Antonio’s Southwest Research Institute are defending Earth from future asteroid impacts.Todos Agua/Water for All Festival

Esperanza Peace and Justice Center will host Todos Agua/Water for All Festival, featuring guest speakers, musicians, artists, poets and others who will talk and perform about the sacredness of water and its impact on the physical and cultural local landscape.Singles group meetup

Entrepreneurial Bootcamp


San Antonio organization Geekdom will host a Startup Bootcamp, open to all aspiring entrepreneurs. Geekdom representatives said the boot camp is designed to equip them with essential skills to kickstart their business ventures. Facilitated by Geekdom program staff and expert local mentors, the boot camp guides aspiring entrepreneurs in developing a lean canvas, elevator pitch and pitch decks, facilitating the transition from idea to an early-stage product. Briscoe Western Art Museum will celebrate its 10th anniversary with the 2024 Night of Artists Exhibition and Sale, an annual exhibit and sale that fueled the founding of the Briscoe itself. Night of Artists features the opportunity to view and purchase more than 295 new works of painting, sculpture and mixed media by more than 85 of the country’s leading contemporary Western artists. Opening weekend March 22 and 23 features various activities for advance ticket-holders, including an exhibit preview, dinner and live auction March 22, and a grand exhibit opening, sale and reception March 23. ‘Pirates on the Plaza’

Opera San Antonio, Classical Music Institute, and the Main Plaza Conservancy will present “Pirates on the Plaza,” a performance of excerpts from Gilbert & Sullivan’s “The Pirates of Penzance,” and others works inspired by adventures on the high seas, event organizers said. Guests will be invited to explore the world of musical instruments, learn sea shanties, enjoy music- and pirate-themed crafts, and join in family-friendly games before the concert. The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center Theater Arts/Teatro Salon Program will host La Carpa de la Frontera/Las Voces, a program written and performed by CARPA San Diego, a touring Mexicano vaudeville show from San Diego, California, and Tijuana, Mexico. La Carpa De La Frontera/Las Voces is a combination mobile theater and modern vaudeville show that provides various communities with live performances of comedy, drama, political satire, circus, music and grassroots "edutainment,” according to event organizers.Book fair

‘Minha’

Arte y Pasión will present “Minha,” a series of vignettes exploring poetry, music, movement, and food. Event organizers said this multidenominational prayer of dance, music, spoken word and shared food reflects the cultural diversity and heritages of the Holy Land in a collective offering for peace.‘The Long Game’

Mexican American Bar Association of San Antonio and Mucho Mas Media will present a screening of the feature film “The Long Game.” The movie is based on the true story of the San Felipe Mustangs, a group of young Mexican American caddies in 1955 who sought to play golf despite having few resources. The caddies persevered competing against affluent, all-white teams to win the 1957 Texas state golf championship. Screening event proceeds will benefit the Pete Torres Jr. Memorial Scholarship, which aids area college-bound students, and the Edward Charles Foundation for Project Película, an organization that donates tickets to school-age children living along the Mexican-American border so that they may experience the movie.Movie Night
