A charter school informational program, an outdoor market, a collectibles show, a library anniversary party and a chamber music concert are among major events scheduled in San Antonio over the third weekend of January.

Charter school information event

Nonprofit organization San Antonio Charter Moms will present School Discovery Day, a local charter school information event, at The Doseum. The first 1,000 guests who register online will have a chance to meet with representatives from more than 35 local schools and gain complimentary access to The DoSeum’s interactive exhibits and galleries. Guests who compete in a scavenger hunt there can enter into a $100 gift card raffle.Market at The Rock

The Rock at La Cantera, the public space surrounding the Spurs’ new performance facility and other amenities, will host Artisan Alley, a market filled with vendors selling fresh produce, handmade crafts, food and more.Collectibles show

Eckman’s Card, Comic and Toy Show will feature several dealers selling, buying and trading sports and nonsports cards as well as other memorabilia, comic books, toys and other collectibles.

Library anniversary bash


Community members are invited to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Brook Hollow Library. The event will include an opening ceremony, special guests, refreshments and various family-friendly activities. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1980s attire.

Chamber music concert

The San Antonio Chamber Music Society will present a performance by Balourdet Quartet, an award-winning group that will perform works by Mozart, Beethoven and Karim Al-Zand. Attendees may join a post-concert dinner.
