Classen-Steubing Ranch Park meeting
The city of San Antonio will have a public input meeting at Christ Community Church about a second phase of improvements at Classen-Steubing Ranch Park, which opened earlier in 2023 in the Stone Oak area.

‘American Cowboys’
Briscoe Western Art Museum will host the exhibit of Anouk Masson Krantz’s photography, “American Cowboys,” which highlights traditions surrounding ranching and rodeo life with an outsider’s perspective.

Jazz’SAlive
The city of San Antonio’s annual jazz music festival features famed international jazz acts and local bands as well as up-and-comers in the jazz scene. There will also be event merchandise and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Additionally, Jazz’SAlive serves as the grand opening for Hemisfair’s new Civic Park.

Classen-Steubingfest
Staff from the office of John Courage, San Antonio District 9 City Council member, will present Classen-Steubingfest, a family-friendly, Oktoberbest-style celebration in the Stone Oak-area’s newest public park, Classen-Steubing Ranch Park. There will be German food, drinks, music, crafts and kids’ activities.

Race for the Rescues
Spay-Neuter-Inject-Protect San Antonio will present its annual Race for the Rescue, where dog owners and their canines are invited to help raise funds to aid local homeless animals. Proceeds support SNIPSA’s spay/neuter community outreach and provide veterinary care for rescue animals. Awards will be given in different age categories.

‘No Place On Earth’
The Holocaust Memorial Museum of San Antonio will host a screening of the documentary film “No Place On Earth,” about caving enthusiast Chris Nicola who in 1993 visits a set of Ukrainian caves only to find out they were inhabited by a group of Jews hiding there during the Holocaust. Nicola then sets out to meet the surviving members of that group and help share their tale. A question-and-answer session will be held with Nicola after the screening.

National Night Out in Shavano Park
Shavano Park residents are invited to attend the city’s National Night Out festivities, which are designed to promote community spirit and public safety.
