With Fiesta set to fully begin April 20, officials with the city of San Antonio are encouraging event attendees to consider transportation options, parking, traffic, detours and other matters while planning to attend Fiesta activities.

In an April 17 news release, city officials urged event attendees to weigh taking public transportation, ridesharing, biking, walking, or consulting a navigation and traffic app, especially where downtown-area events are concerned.

City officials said VIA Metropolitan Transit’s Park & Ride will be available from multiple locations for many Fiesta events, including the Fiesta parades, Night In Old San Antonio and the King William Fair.

Residents are advised that streets will close early for the Fiesta Battle of Flowers Parade on April 28, closing at 7 a.m. and reopening by 2 p.m.

Roads will close for the Fiesta Flambeau Parade on April 29, beginning at 4 p.m. and reopening by 1 a.m. Visit https://saspeakup.com/Fiesta2023 for Fiesta-related downtown street closure and parking details.

Attendees planning to drive to downtown Fiesta activities may check out the SAPark website for parking options. City officials said event parking rates may apply, and parking is subject to availability. The Downtown Tuesday free parking program will be temporarily suspended on April 25.

Additionally, partygoers are urged to browse an updated list of lane or road closures caused by downtown construction projects ahead of the festivities.
