The San Antonio Department of Arts and Culture has reopened the doors to the Culture Commons Gallery during Women’s History Month with “The Status of Women in San Antonio” exhibit. On display are artworks by 15 local women artists who were asked to reflect on the findings outlined in The Status of Women in San Antonio report as a prompt for the creation of new, original works. The various artworks examine issues ranging from domestic violence to equal pay to reminding women to take time for themselves. Cesar E. Chavez Legacy and Educational Foundation’s 26th annual Cesar Chavez March for Justice celebrates the legacy of the late civil rights activist. This is San Antonio’s first in-person Cesar Chavez march since 2019. Activities start at 8:30 a.m. with a DJ, a morning rally and free refreshments while supplies last at the intersection of Guadalupe and Brazos streets. The march starts there at 10 a.m., goes through downtown and will end around noon at Hemisfair, 630 E. Nueva St., where there will be guest speakers and music, including local bands Little Joe y La Familia and Piñata Protest. VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer a free roundtrip bus ride for marchers.
