Residents still looking for the perfect holiday gifts have several opportunities to shop local thanks to holiday markets and other seasonal festivities scheduled around the San Antonio area.

Some of those events include the following.

Dec. 11: Downtown Dog Market features some local vendors specializing in apparel, accessories, toys, and food for dogs and cats. This month’s Downtown Dog Market includes a Santa Paws parade and a dog costume contest. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The parade and contest begin at noon. Dec. 11: The pet-friendly SoFlo Market features local artists and markets with handmade creations, homegrown products, and vintage finds. There will also be food trucks. Masks are encouraged. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission. 1344 S. Flores St. [email protected]

Dec. 11: North Pole Nopal, organized by the San Antonio River Foundation, is an outdoor event that includes a farmers market, a native tree giveaway, food trucks and a performance by the San Antonio Brass Band. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Free admission. Confluence Park, 310 W. Mitchell St.

Dec. 11: Southtown Second Saturday Holiday Market is presented by The Artisan. 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Free admission. 1103 S. Presa St.

Dec. 11-12: The Holiday Craft Market at Hemisfair is an outdoor event that includes vendors with hot drinks and holiday cocktails. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Free admission. 434 S. Alamo St.

Dec. 18: StreetFareSA food truck park hosts a handful of local vendors, and encourages visitors to stay for food and drinks. Noon-5 p.m. Free admission. 1916 Austin Hwy.

Dec. 18: Christkindlmarket is Main Plaza’s first German Christmas market. Visitors may get refreshments from the Blue Star Ice House and view a Christmas tree and nativity scene on site. 4-9 p.m. Free admission.

Dec. 18: Santa Claus will be available at the Village at Stone Oak shopping center to pose for free photos. See Santa in between the Loft and Victoria’s Secret stores. Bring a new toy to donate to Soldiers’ Angels, a local nonprofit that serves military members, veterans and their families. Noon-4 p.m. Free admission. 22610 US 281 N.
