Bexar County data shows early-voting turnout for the May 6 local elections exceeding early voting for the May 2021 municipal elections.
According to Bexar County data, 106,948 total ballots were cast during the early-voting period held April 24-May 2, whereas 101,221 ballots were cast early for the May 1, 2021, elections.
Data points to Brookhollow Library being the busiest polling site in this year’s early-voting period with 8,409 total ballots recorded there. Semmes Branch Library was the second-busiest early-voting location this year with 6,057 ballots collected there.
Elections are being held in San Antonio for the mayor and in all 10 City Council districts as well as for Proposition A, a single ballot measure that proposes six policing and decriminalization initiatives.
Contested races are also being held in Hollywood Park; Northside ISD; and other communities and school districts, such as Castle Hills, Live Oak, Cibolo, Universal City, Alamo Heights and Judson ISD.
Comal ISD and Alamo Heights ISD are among the San Antonio-area school districts and cities floating bond issues and other special proposals May 6.
Polls will be open election day from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at 251 sites across Bexar County.
