Eligible residents interested in seeking a city council spot in Hollywood Park, Hill Country Village, San Antonio or Shavano Park ahead of the May 6 municipal elections have from Jan. 18 until 5 p.m. Feb. 17 to file for a position.
The following mayoral and council seats in the north central San Antonio area are up for election, listed alongside the incumbent.
- Hill Country Village: Place 1 (Carl Register), Place 3 (Thomas Doyle), Place 5 (Allison Francis)
- Hollywood Park: Place 1 (Chester Drash), Place 3 (Michael Voorhies), Place 5 (Glenna Pearce)
- San Antonio: mayor (Ron Nirenberg), all 10 council spots, including District 8 (Manny Pelaez), District 9 (John Courage) and District 10 (Clayton Perry)
- Shavano Park: mayor (Bob Werner), at-large seats held by Albert Aleman and Pete Miller; residents will be asked to choose two candidates for the at-large council positions
In San Antonio, incumbent council members, such as Courage, have already announced their intent to run for re-election.
Feb. 17 is also the state’s deadline for a city, school district or other governmental entity to set a special election for May 6. Early voting will be held April 25-May 2.
