According to May 7 election early polling figures released by Bexar County, bond issues proposed by the cities of San Antonio and Shavano Park and by Northside ISD have approval from voters.
Meanwhile, two of three incumbent school board members in the North East ISD were behind.
Regarding San Antonio’s $1.2 billion bond, two propositions were receiving at least 70% approval, and the remaining four propositions had collected at least 60% approval in early voting.
Shavano Park’s $10 million road improvement bond had tallied 82.4% approval in early voting.
In Hollywood Park’s lone City Council race, political newcomer Todd Kounse had 62.4% over fellow political neophyte Michael Hall in the Place 2 contest.
In NEISD, District 2 Trustee Terri Williams held a 39.9% lead with Jacqueline Klein close behind with 37%. Rhonda Rowland was third with 23%.
In District 3, Diane Sciba Villarreal had 59.6% over Trustee Omar Leos, who is seeking to secure a full four-year term.
Marsha Landry had 42.6% in the District 7 race, where incumbent Sandy Winkley, seeking a second term, was in second place with 38.8%. Former NEISD Trustee Joseph Trevino had 18.4%.
NISD’s $992 million bond received 58.7% approval in early voting.
According to the county, 5.4% of registered voters cast a ballot during the early voting period.
