North East ISD has begun providing free meals during weekdays this summer to children age 18 and under.
According to NEISD officials, the district started offering free breakfast or lunch June 5 with times and dates of service varying depending on the site.
NEISD officials said 22 campus sites are participating, including:
- Coker Elementary School, 302 Heimer Road, San Antonio; Mon.-Fri. 7-8 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. through July 28
- Colonial Hills Elementary School, 2627 Kerrybrook Court, San Antonio; Mon.-Thu. 7:30-9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. through June 29
- Huebner Elementary School, 16311 Huebner Road, San Antonio; Mon.-Thu. 7-8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through June 29
- Oak Meadow Elementary School, 2800 Hunters Green, San Antonio; Mon.-Thu. 7-8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through June 29
- Redland Oaks Elementary School, 16650 Redland Road, San Antonio; Mon.-Fri. 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through July 28
- Thousand Oaks Elementary School, 16080 Henderson Pass, San Antonio; Mon.-Thu. 7-8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. through June 29
NEISD officials said meals are provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
District officials added free bus service is available from four bus stops, including 16240 San Pedro Ave. in the San Pedro Mobile Home Park, for participating children for lunches Monday to Friday through July 29.
