Brighton Preschool, a North San Antonio early childhood education facility, on Jan. 12 announced the opening of a new state-of-the-art infant classroom at its 14207 Higgins Road location.
A news release said the new classroom will help promote exploration and development, which is critical toward helping babies remain engaged and reach important milestones.
The new infant classroom will offer individualized curriculum, low teacher-to-student ratios, high-quality certified teachers, round-the-clock sanitation of toys and classrooms, and a private area for breastfeeding mothers, the release said.
Teachers and administrators will also help nurture each child by spending time making eye contact, and developing language and a love of learning, the release said.
The preschool, which previously only served children as young as 18 months old, will now serve those as young as 6 weeks old, the release said, adding that parents with babies up to 18 months old are also eligible to enroll in the new program.
Brighton officials said the new infant classroom at the Brighton Preschool Higgins location was inspired by the vital need for enhanced infant care in San Antonio.
“We saw the desperate need for infant care, and as the leader of early childhood education we wanted to help. Our infant classroom provides parents with a peace of mind knowing their child is an important part of our Brighton family and is nurtured through their unique wants, skills and needs,” Brighton Vice President of Education Michelle Rivera said.
