One of Pearl’s long-standing eateries, Botika, will be closing its doors on Aug. 4, according to a news release.

The details

Chef and owner Geronimo Lopez from Caracas, Venezuela, opened the eatery in 2016. Botika offers a blend of Peruvian, Japanese and Chinese fusion dishes. Chef Lopez also served as an executive chef and instructor at San Antonio's Culinary Institute of America.

"Closing this chapter is bittersweet, but I'm incredibly grateful for the dedication and passion of my Botika staff and the support Pearl has shown throughout this eight-year journey,” Lopez said in a statement. “We've created unforgettable experiences together, and I am immensely proud of what we've accomplished.

The bright side

According to the release, Lopez will continue to showcase his talents with the James Beard Foundation.

From July 28 to August 4, Botika will celebrate its 8th anniversary with $8 drink and snack specials. On July 28th, join Botika on the patio for a special event featuring llamas from Leslie Lane Farm in Seguin, followed by an evening set from DJ El Robotico playing Peruvian Cumbia Chicha.
