Tu Asador, a Mexican steakhouse based in Castle Hills, plans to open a second location in north central San Antonio.

In a nutshell

Owners of Tu Asador said they are developing a second eatery at 1662 Encino Rio, Ste. 100, the previous home for Tlahco Mexican Kitchen. The owners added they hope to open the second restaurant early this fall, but have not given a preliminary date.

Put in perspective

Tu Asador is owned and operated by Mexican natives Regina Gonzalez, her three siblings, and their parents. Regina’s brother Jose Gonzalez serves as chef. They opened the Castle Hills eatery in May 2021.

Having grown up on ranches in the Monterrey, Mexico area, the Gonzalezes sought to provide an authentic Mexican steakhouse experience with a focus on interior Mexican cuisine.

Meats are served to the center of a table for visitors to enjoy their meal family style. Steaks are served with roasted garlic and chargrilled bulb onions.
