Ming’s Thing recently opened a second San Antonio location, this time near The Shops at La Cantera and Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

The background

Owner Ming Qian von Bargen launched a venture selling steamed bao buns at the Quarry Farmers Market in 2011.

The venture expanded over time, leading to a presence at the Pearl Farmers Market and the first brick-and-mortar, Ming’s Noodle Bar.

The first Ming’s Thing opened its doors in 2020 in San Antonio’s Midtown area near San Antonio College.

A closer look

Aside from the variety of steamed bao buns, Ming’s Thing offers lemon chicken rice bowls, tofu and broccoli rice bowls, hot and chilled noodle bowls, and small bites, such as shrimp dumplings, cauliflower wings, and shiitake mushroom dumplings.

The new La Cantera location also has Jujube at Ming's, a bar concept that features craft cocktails and sake specials, as well as access to the food menu.

Both Ming’s Thing locations provide online food orders for pickup.
