The owners of The Dooryard, San Antonio’s lone self-serve beer and wine taproom, said Aug. 22 they would temporarily stop operations after Aug. 26.

Jason Meredith opened The Dooryard at 4503 DeZavala Road, Ste. 108, near Shavano Park and Clark High School, three years ago. There, guests have been able to sample from more than 30 beers, wines and seltzers by the ounce.

Meredith went on The Dooryard’s Facebook page Aug. 22, saying he and his colleagues will be taking an indefinite break but did not provide details on the future of his venture.

"Rest assured, the spirit of craft beer lives on, and we're excited about the possibility of returning stronger than ever,” Meredith said.

Meredith invited community members to visit The Dooryard before Aug. 26, the planned final day of operations. The taproom plans to host a final steak night and karaoke opportunities Aug. 26.
