Representatives of Vista Brewing Co. announced Aug. 18 the Driftwood, Texas-based brewery will reopen its San Antonio taproom this fall at 125 Lamar St. on the city’s East Side. No specific opening date has been provided yet.

The five-year-old brewery headquartered near Austin opened as a taproom and beer garden on San Antonio’s near West Side in 2021 and closed in July 2023.

Vista’s representatives said their new San Antonio location, on the edge of downtown, will be a larger cafe-style space offering some dishes made popular at Vista’s Driftwood flagship site, including the crispy chicken sandwich with Thai sriracha glaze, a burger made with Akaushi Texas wagyu beef and seasonable salads.

Vista San Antonio will offer its core and seasonal craft beers; wine; coffee; beer and wine pairing dinners; community activities; and a private event space.

“We are very much looking forward to sharing our culinary program with both new and longtime Vista fans in San Antonio,” Vista co-founder Karen Killough said in a statement. “The new location on Lamar Street allows us more space for sharing engaging, community-focused events—and of course more craft beer and Texas wine.”
