A popular Jewish diner, a Mexican restaurant and a healthy dining eatery all opened in early June in North San Antonio.

The Hayden

The Hayden, which owner Adam Lampinstein describes as a blend between a New York City-style Jewish delicatessen and a South Texas diner, opened a second location June 14 in the Alon Town Centre retail center, 10003 NW Military Hwy., Ste. 2115.

Like the original Hayden storefront in the Alamo Heights area, the new north side locale occupies the former Green Vegetarian restaurant site, and features breakfast, lunch, dinner and a full bar.

Menu offerings include a pastrami and Swiss sandwich, chicken and potato latke waffle, crispy fish sandwich on challah toast, and barbacoa stroganoff as well as seasonal options. Lampinstein said he is happy to see diners enjoying a variety of unique dishes at The Hayden.

“We are so excited to bring our unique new-school finer diner vibe to more people throughout the community,” Lampinstein said in a statement.
