To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the creation of the Texas Rangers law enforcement organization, San Antonio-area Rebecca Creek Distillery has produced a limited edition collector's series of its Texas Ranger 1823 Blended Whiskey.
According to a news release, each bottle features a label honoring one of nine Rangers who were seen as vital to the legacy of the evolution of the Texas Rangers.
The recent release includes the likes of John Coffee Hays, Hamilton Walker and John Hughes with more Texas Rangers expected to be featured in the spring and fall 2023 releases. Prices range from $24.99-$27.99. Bottles are only available in stores while limited supplies last.
The Texas Ranger 1823 Blended Whiskey is the official drink of the Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Bicentennial event, the release said.
Proceeds raised throughout the year's bicentennial celebrations will go to support five causes, including a memorial tribute to fallen rangers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers; a scholarship fund for children of active rangers; the ranger relief fund for active and retired rangers; a mobile Texas Ranger museum; and to cover costs related to the bicentennial events throughout 2023.
Rebecca Creek Distillery Founder Steve Ison expressed excitement at his whiskey being chosen as the official spirit of this Texas Rangers’ milestone.
"The Texas Ranger 1823 blended whiskey commemorative bottles are our way of honoring the legacy and 200 years of service of our Texas Rangers. The Texas Rangers represent the best of law enforcement, and Rebecca Creek the best in whiskey, so it only makes sense that our whiskey is the official spirit of the Texas Ranger Law Enforcement Bicentennial,” Ison said in a statement.
