As part of the 2022-27 Bond projects, San Antonio city officials will rehabilitate Lady Bird Johnson Park and add general park improvements.
The gistCurrently in the design phase, the project will rehabilitate and add improvements to the park within available funds.
Improvements may include:- A new shade canopy over the swings at the playground
- New shade canopies at the edge of the basketball court
- New sports field lighting at soccer field 2
- Lighting upgrades at the skate park
- Planting new trees south of the skate park
- Demolition and removal of the building east of the center
- A connection to the Perrin Trailhead
According to
city documents, construction is estimated to begin spring 2026 and be completed by winter 2027.
