As part of the Hazard Mitigation Action Plan project, city officials will install an underground storm drain system and add channel improvements in the Eisenhauer-Northwood-Devonshire area.
The gistKnown as
Eisenhauer-Northwood-Devonshire Phase 1A, the project is the continuation of the 2017 bond project, which will construct an underground storm drain system; add channel improvements along Pike Road from Brookside Street to Albin Drive; and reconstruct roadways, curbs, sidewalks and driveway approaches within available funding.
Proposed improvements include:- 30 feet of pavement width
- 5-foot-wide sidewalks on each side with curbs and gutters
- New storm drain inlets
- Raising street to eliminate low-water crossing
- Utility line replacements
- Box culverts under the channel
- Grass and artificial turf depression to control stormwater velocity
- Maintenance ramp with gate near Pike Road crossing
The project is part of the 2022-27 Bond program and will deal with existing conditions, such as an undersized storm system underneath Pike Road, replacing concrete panels in the channel as needed, widening the channel to deal with storm flows and removing overgrown vegetation.
