Rivian, a California-based electric vehicle manufacturer, plans to build its first San Antonio service at 8790 Crownhill Blvd. near the San Antonio International Airport.

According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing, Rivian is working with Austin company CSW Development to demolish existing structures at the site and build 27,660 square feet of shell building space at a cost of $1 million.

The maintenance facility project is scheduled to begin in early August and be complete in July 2024, the TDLR filing states. In 2022, Rivian opened service centers in Austin, Dallas and Houston to house a variety of operations.
