The city of San Antonio is encouraging residents to comment on planned improvements for Stone Oak Park.
City officials said $750,000 was set aside in the city’s voter-approved 2022 bond for Stone Oak Park improvements, including possible trail rehabilitation.
District 9 City Council Member John Courage and city public works officials held a community meeting about potential park upgrades on June 26 at Parman Library at Stone Oak.
City representatives said preliminary plans call for turning the North Loop trail at Stone Oak Park into a concrete path and maintaining trail width consistency.
According to city officials, design for the planned conversion of the North Loop trail is beginning this July and will continue through summer 2024.
City officials plan to solicit trail construction bids afterward and start working on the trail in fall 2024.
