In the Democratic primaries runoff race, former Children’s Court Judge Peter Sakai has taken the lead with 95 of 258 precincts tallied to be the candidate for Bexar County judge.

Sakai has taken 28,985 votes, or 60.20%, against State Rep. Ina Minjarez’s 19,164 votes, or 39.80% of votes cast in early voting and on Election Day.

The winner of the runoff will run against Republican candidate Trish DeBerry, the former Bexar County Commissioner, in the November election.
