In March, Thomas and Beth Hernandez took over ownership with a goal to build a business centered around community. Monarch Mail is an independent pack and ship store and can ship packages through USPS, FEDEX and UPS. The business also offers mailbox rental and notary services to customers. Methodist Hospital Burn and Reconstructive Center


Methodist Hospital recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Burn and Reconstructive Center, which has treated 15,000 patients since its inception. Originally opened in April 2020, Burn and Reconstructive Center is the only program in South Texas devoted to treating burn injuries for both pediatric and adult patients.

What’s next

La Costa Grill

Located at 5546 N. Loop 1604 W., the new 6,740-square-foot restaurant will serve fresh seafood and coastal cuisine with a Mexican twist. The menu includes ceviches, tacos, steaks, fish fillets, empanadas and sopes. According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, construction on the $2 million renovation will begin June 2, 2025 and be completed by Jan. 16, 2026.


Chik-fil-A UTSA

The construction of the new 5,376-square-foot restaurant is estimated to begin Jan. 5 and be completed June 11. The project will include a restaurant with a drive-thru and stand alone canopies, and is estimated to cost $4.5 million.
