Color Me Mine, a paint-your-own-pottery franchise, is celebrating the first birthday of its San Antonio location from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 1.

What you need to know

Owned by Kelley and Lane Copelin, Color Me Mine San Antonio will give the first 25 guests on Feb. 1 a free mug to paint that day. Additionally, the celebration will feature raffles, drawings and giveaways, including free parties and pottery. The celebration will also feature free professional face painting, and attendees can enjoy a birthday cake provided by The Cake Shop.

Attendees will be able to choose from a selection of hundreds of ceramic pieces, including plates, bowls, mugs, figurines, boxes and home decor to paint during their visit.

The details

Located 11255 Huebner Road, Ste. 108, attendees can select a piece of bare bisque—clay that has been fired in a kiln once—to paint. Once a piece has been painted, attendees will leave their pieces to be glazed and fired. Painted pieces will be ready for pickup within a week.

Additionally, on the last Saturday of each month, the studio extends its hours to midnight for those looking for a late-night creative outlet. On the third Thursday of each month, Color Me Mine opens early at 7 am. with a special promotion—$1 fees all day long. Guests can also bring their own beverages.

Color Me Mine accepts walk-ins from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Sunday. The studio charges a $10 studio fee per painter, with the average pottery piece ranging in price from $20-$35. Reservations are not required.

Quote of note

“We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate our first birthday alongside the San Antonio community,” Kelley Copelin said. “This past year has been filled with so many special moments, and we’re so grateful to have built a space where creativity thrives. Lane and I are looking forward to many more years of sharing the joy of pottery painting with everyone who has supported us along the way.”
