The existing location of Pawsitively Sweet Bakery, a bakery that offers a range of treats for dogs, will close May 31 and reopen at the Park North shopping center.

What’s happening

Owner Esther Foster said a moving sale will be held through May 31 at Pawsitively Sweet’s current store, 5501 Blanco Road, on the edge of Castle Hills.

Pawsitively Sweet features a variety of dog cakes, biscuits and other pastries baked in house, along with dog chews and food, cat treats, and pet apparel and accessories.

A grand opening for the new bakery space will start at 11 a.m. June 1 inside Painted Tree Boutiques, a community of independent retail shop owners and operators.

The site once housed the Central Park Mall Sears store years ago.

What’s next

Foster said she has been operating a satellite Pawsitively Sweet space at Painted Tree Boutiques for some time, but beginning June 1, it will serve as the main permanent bakery.

Foster said the new bakery location will be open to pet owners with sociable, leashed dogs.

According to Foster, the Pawsitively Sweet website will continue to accept orders, and the bakery will maintain a presence during the Pearl Farmers Market on weekends.
