CityVet, a Dallas-based network of veterinary-owned comprehensive pet care practices, opened a northwest San Antonio clinic Feb. 6 at 14048 FM 471, Ste. 101.

Located in the growing neighborhood of Kallison Ranch, the new facility provides full-service care for pets, including preventative care, diagnostics, same-day walk-ins and surgery, a news release said.

CityVet-Kallison Ranch is led by Dr. Greg Gaines, who graduated from Texas A&M University and earned a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 2005 with honors, the release said.

Following graduation, he joined the team at Affordable Pet Care-Northwest in San Antonio as an associate veterinarian and practiced with them for 11 years.

According to the release, Gaines then went on to open Alamo Ranch Animal Hospital as the owner/practicing veterinarian for the past six years. He later partnered with CityVet to open additional clinics in San Antonio.

Personally, Gaines is married with two children and has two dogs, Mox, a Deutsch drahthaar, and Annie, a mix.

“I am always up for a challenge and enjoy working with patients to treat a wide variety of medical conditions,” Gaines said in a statement. "I am passionate about making veterinary care more accessible to the community, so I am excited to bring CityVet to the San Antonio suburbs."

CityVet President and CEO David Boguslawski said his company is eager to expand locally as part of San Antonio’s growth.

“We are looking forward to expanding CityVet in San Antonio and know that Dr. Gaines will do an exceptional job serving pets and their owners in the community,” Boguslawski said.
