The first San Antonio location for Minnesota-based retailer Rockler Woodworking and Hardware opened in mid-December at the San Pedro Crossing shopping center, 309 N. Loop 410, Ste. 410.
The 10,332-square-foot retail location is the seventh Rockler store in Texas and the 43rd for the company, a news release said.
According to the release, Rockler offers a year-round calendar of hands-on woodworking classes as well as exclusive lines of hardware, tools, supplies and innovative products used to build furniture, cabinets and other woodworking projects.
The new San Antonio storefront can showcase thousands of products plus a state-of-the-art classroom used for hands-on courses that woodworkers of all skill levels can take to learn or enhance their woodworking skills.
The classes are led by the store team’s expert woodworkers who can help class participants make items such as pens, bowls, cheeseboards and many other projects that serve as great experiences and gifts, the release said.
“Rockler prides itself on providing an inviting store experience with experts who can help both professional woodworkers and DIYers find the right products for their projects, from tools to quality lumber,” Rockler’s Vice President of Retail Joe Kester said in a statement.
The Rockler store features a hardwood lumber outlet, a specialty space designed to make shopping for hardwood lumber more consumer friendly.
The lumber outlet includes a wide selection of boards, slabs, plywood, veneer and turning blanks suitable for quality woodworking and do-it-yourself projects, the release said, adding select employees can help customers plan their materials list, choose the right species, and size and cut boards to length for free.
If additional milling is desired, the staff can also rip or plane the lumber to the desired size for a small fee, the release said.
