Minnesota-based retailer Rockler Woodworking and Hardware opened its first San Antonio store in mid-December at the San Pedro Crossing retail center, 309 N. Loop 410 W., Ste. 300.

Rockler offers a variety of woodworking tools and supplies, as well as hands-on woodworking classes and a lumber outlet. The retailer now has 43 stores nationwide.

A news release said the classes are led by the store team’s expert woodworkers who can help class participants make items such as pens, bowls, cheeseboards and many other projects.

“Rockler prides itself on providing an inviting store experience with experts who can help both professional woodworkers and DIYers find the right products for their projects, from tools to quality lumber,” Rockler's Vice President of Retail Joe Kester said in a statement.

The hardwood lumber outlet inside the new 10,332-square-foot San Antonio Rockler store includes a wide selection of boards, slabs, plywood, veneer and turning blanks suitable for woodworking and do-it-yourself projects, the release said.

Rockler employees can help customers plan their materials list and select the right species and size, plus cut boards to length for free. If additional milling is desired, the staff can also rip or plane the lumber to the desired size for a small fee, the release said.
