Two San Antonio entrepreneurs say their new clothing brand, Life Approach Clothing, is seeking partnerships with local nonprofits and causes committed toward cancer research.

In a news release, company co-founders Gumaro Sanchez and Patrick Harris said they were brainstorming ideas for an affordable, online athletic wear company when Harris’ mother was diagnosed with leukemia.

In order to help raise awareness and funding for cancer research, the duo considered creating a cancer awareness shirt for which they could donate sales proceeds to local nonprofits.

Harris and Sanchez said they then decided to rebrand their business model and create a venture that donates a portion of every sale to cancer research.

“I’m not the only person or member of the only family that has been impacted by a cancer diagnosis,” Harris said.

“Everyone experiencing what my family has experienced is in need of support, and if our clothing line can help them in some way, that means the world to me.”

“It was one of the easiest decisions we’ve made throughout this entire process,” Sanchez said.

“We don’t want to be some run-of-the-mill online clothing company. We want to make an impact in our community. We want to help as many people as we can through our brand.”

Harris and Sanchez said they believe their company will carve a space in the athletic wear and athleisure wear market and be able to help increase awareness of cancer research.

Nonprofits that the company is working with include The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Leukemia Research Foundation, Be the Match, the American Cancer Society, and the Greehey Children’s Cancer Research Institute.

The news release said 25% of all purchases goes to partner nonprofits. Life Approach is also offering bracelets, of which 100% of all profits will go toward cancer research. Visit https://lifeapproachclothing.com for more information.
