The holidays are the perfect time of year to refresh and redecorate, and a fresh coat of paint is an easy way to make a space feel completely new. Whether it’s a bright pop of color or a neutral makeover, San Antonio Paints has the tools homeowners need to jazz up any space.

Husband and wife co-owners Pari and Thane Annamalai said customers often compare the Benjamin Moore paints sold by San Antonio Paints to those sold by big box stores. There is no comparison in terms of paint quality and the variety of colors as San Antonio Paints offers 3,500 colors to choose from as well as a variety of sheens from flat, to matter, eggshell, pearl, satin, semi-gloss and gloss.

Thane said many people feel overwhelmed at the start of a project and are unsure which colors to choose. To help clients through the process, San Antonio Paints offers free in-store design and color consultations to assist homeowners pick the perfect color for their desired project.

“Bring us an old paint chip, an old can, or even a favorite cushion of yours and we can match it,” Thane said.

Color is clearly an important aspect of refreshing a space, but Pari said there are many other aspects, like the quality of the paint and the services offered by the retailer.

At San Antonio Paints, all paints are made using waterborne technology. This means a greater variety of vibrant colors. Pari said Benjamin Moore Paint is higher quality.

“The resins and binders that keep our paint together are not sourced from third-parties, but designed specifically for Benjamin Moore paints, which results in better consistency and finish,” he said.

Pari said the company is not a one-size-fits-all store. In fact, San Antonio Paints offers options tailored to specific personal needs and areas of the home. Customers can find paints that are designed for high moisture areas like a bathroom as well as paint formulated specifically to provide scuff resistance for high-traffic areas of the home.

Some of the unique options available include interior paints like Aura Bath and Spa Paint which offers humidity protection as well as Coronado MultApply Paint which has superior adhesions and rust preventatives for outdoor projects.

The company’s paints are also low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs). VOCs are elements that make asthma and allergies worse. Low-VOC paints are good options for spaces like schools, assisted living spaces, nurseries and hospitals. The company also offers a line called EcoSpec which are certified as no -VOC.

For owners Pari and Thane, one of the challenges in running the business is corporate-owned competition, so the duo makes it a priority to source from local suppliers and even had the company’s T-shirts made locally.

The locally-owned retailer of Benjamin Moore also offers a few perks for Central Texans, including free delivery on orders of $400 or more within a 20-mile radius of the store and working one-on-one with color experts to help find the right solution for home projects. In addition, San Antonio Paints offers a unique option to create custom colors. Customers can even name the new color after the process.

San Antonio Paints is located at 1903 N. Loop 1604 E., Ste. G-3105, San Antonio and serves the Greater San Antonio area, including Cross Mountain, Fair Oaks Ranch, Bulverde, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Schertz, Randolph Airforce Base, Hollywood Park, Hill County Village, Timberwood Park, Leo Springs, Shavano Park and Longhorn.
